The subject area develops the following foundational research themes in a circular perspective between theory and practice: the object of pedagogy; the relationship of pedagogy with other sciences; the concept of person and educability; the characteristics of competent educational action from an individual and team perspective; training in different contexts (school and extra-school) in the perspective of Long Life Education and in the three cycles of university education; nursery school education and parents' pedagogy; the problems of active citizenship, the right to education, inclusion and exclusion processes and intercultural education.
