Interculture, protection of social citizenship and anthropology of education

The area aims to investigate and reflect on cultural and social differences, by means of an ethnographic and comparative perspective, paying particular attention to complex and multicultural, especially urban, societies, where phenomena of increasing social differentiation and cultural diversity are outlined and that always require more intercultural and critically oriented approaches.

The research group also intends to deepen the role of diversity (which may relate to cultural, ethnical, social, gender, religious, linguistic and others differences) within social and educational processes, identifying lines and tools for their management and enhancement in educational areas marked by growing pluralism in a social justice perspective. Furthermore, the area aims to investigate the methods of promoting and guaranteeing the rights of social citizenship and the conditions of non-discrimination and equal social dignity and inclusion, in partnership with public institutions and the so called Third sector.
